A medal presented to Pele in the 1960s by the Confederacao Brasileira de Desportos [Brazilian Confederation of Sports] as a member of the Taca Brazil Championship-winning Santos team.

The medal features a soccer player framed by laurels above and wings below. The C.B.D. emblem appears at the bottom in enamel. The back of the medal features the words "Confederacao Brasileira de Desportos, Campeonato Brasileiro, 1. Lugar." [Brazilian Sports Confederation, Brazilian Championship, 1st Place].

The Taca Brazil [Brazil Cup] was the national championship of Brazilian club football. It was held from 1959 to 1968 and founded to enable Brazil to provide a national champion for the Copa Libertadores de America [Liberators of America Cup]. The Copa Libertadores de America is the championship of South American football, featuring the best club teams from each country in South America.

Santos FC won the Taca Brazil with Pele for five consecutive years: 1961-1965. The team was also victorious in the Copa Libertadores in the years 1962 and 1963. The exact championship year of this particular medal has not been identified.
