This is a Vivienne Westwood wool crown from the 1987-88 “Harris Tweed” collection belonging to Boy George. 

The hat is made of wool with a faux fur (ermine looking) trim at the base of the crown. Boy George was photographed wearing the crown during a DJ set at rave in Germiston, South Africa. The design takes the English crown, designed in a wool twill. The entire hat is made of wool, except for the faux fur trim. The interior of the hat is made with an apricot hue satin blend fabric, a Vivienne Westwood label is sewn on the interior lining, no size present. 

The Harris Tweed collection exhibit design bade Harris Tween fabric mills, taking traditional wool tartans, and incorporating them into modern with nostalgic English style designs. The designer said of the collection, "Here, I have taken the vocabulary of royalty and traditional British symbols – and used it to my advantage.” Boy George considers Westwood and her designs as large influence to his style, he says in an interview with Julien's Auction house, “Vivienne Westwood, I mean, Vivienne Westwood is the mother of London style.”
