20th Century Fox, 1967. A group of two scripts from the production of Samantha Eggar's first huge Hollywood studio film, also starring Rex Harrison. Both scripts are leatherbound and debossed, one is inscribed to Eggar by the members of the film's makers and crew. A working script, marked “2nd Revised Version - June 1966,” with annotations by Eggar. The script is bound in red leather, and debossed in gold on the front: “Doctor Dolittle” and “Samantha Eggar.” The binding also includes reproductions of costume illustrations for Eggar, call sheets, and photos.A script marked “Final Screenplay / by / Leslie Bricusse” on the front wrapper, inscribed to Eggar by members of the cast and crew. The script is bound in brown leather and debossed in gold on the front: “Doctor Dolittle” and “Sam." Signers include: director Richard Fleischer ("As it says in the song - ‘Where are the words?’ The only appropriate ones I can think of are - my thanks, my gratitude, and my congratulations for putting up with me - Dick," cinematographer Robert Surtees ("Dear Sam - ‘The Collector,’ ‘Dr. Dolittle,' I hope for many more together."), choreographer Herbert Ross ("I know I shouldn't go all sentimental - still, the best thing abut the whole thing - was being about to know you"), Nora Kaye, star Anthony Newley (who also drew a cartoon), music editor Robert Mayor, script supervisor June Santantoni, and makeup artist Gary Morris.
