Columbia, 1966. Three leatherbound albums containing Samantha Eggar's production materials from the film Walk, Don't Run, including a signed letter from co-star Cary Grant with its original envelope, photographs inscribed to Eggar by Grant and co-star Jim Hutton, two leatherbound production scripts (one annotated by Eggar, one inscribed by writer Sol Saks), a call sheet, and approximately 50 original stills from the film and its set. Two of the leather covers are green, one white, all three are debossed in gold with the film title and Eggar's name to the bottom right.Grant's letter, typed on his personal stationery and dated February 15, 1966, reads in part: “Dear Sammy - / How thoughtful of you to conspire with Jimmy to give me those charming little books. What a happy idea. Thank you. Thank you Sammy. I look forward to reading them … and learning from them at the same time … to Diane's and my eagerly awaited child … Keep well. Keel healthy. You're an extraordinarily talented young woman. So walk easily, assuredly, with contentment always, and don't run. We'll meet again.” Diane refers to Grant's wife at the time, Dyan Cannon. The letter is poignant, as Grant retired from films permanently after Walk, Don't Run, largely to raise his first child.Hutton's photo is humorously inscribed: “Dear Sam - / I insist that / everyone realize this / was a 2-SHOT. But / Columbia cropped it to / protect your image. / Love Jim.”A photograph signed by Grant and Hutton is inscribed: “To Samantha / With admiration and affection! / Cary” and “To Sam - / Thanks roommate! / It was fun / to share an apartment / + a picture.- / Love, Jim."
