Paramount, 1970. Samantha Eggar's annotated working script for Martin Ritt's historical drama about Irish immigrant coal miners who revolt against their oppressive work environment. Together with two framed photographs of Eggar with co-stars Sean Connery and Richard Harris which hung in her home, and an additional script for the film in Paramount wrappers.The script's first page is labeled “REVISED 4 / 22 / 68.” It is printed on green and white revision pages and housed, unbound in a manila envelope. On the script's first page, Eggar has affixed an autograph note from Martin Ritt which reads “Sam, / It was good to / have you on picture / Love / Marty.” In addition to annotating the script, Eggar has drawn sketches of herself on several blank pages. The same envelope houses production ephemera including an airline schedule and a cast list, on which Eggar has handwritten each of her fellow cast members' astrological signs.Each framed photo: 8.25 x 10.25
