A framed piece of original concept artwork for an ultimately unused design for the poster for Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (20th Century Fox, 1983).
The artwork depicts a hooded Luke Skywalker now as a full-on Jedi Master with a beaming blue lightsaber ablaze in front of his face. The work is realized in prisma pencil and gouache on black paper with a printed title cel. Artists preferred using dark backgrounds because they were faster to work on than light backgrounds.
George Lucas was presented with several different poster designs for the film, before ultimately choosing the "Lightsaber with Hands" style for one-sheet poster.
Together with an original sketch for the design on onion paper and a small card depicting the design.
Dimensions: Framed: 21.75 x 16.75 x 0.75 inches; Sight: 15.75 x 10 inches

"Luke's Eyes" poster mock-up artwork from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (Lucasfilm Ltd., 1983).
The multimedia on illustration board drawing is protected with transparent plastic and a gray matte.
Lawrence Noble produced various designs featuring this mysterious cloaked figure (“Master Luke”). His design is seen in several variations throughout early poster concepts, but the figure was ultimately replaced by the lone lightsaber, the saga’s most iconic weapon and symbol of the Jedi knights, held aloft for the "Style A" poster. The looming figure concept can still be seen in the "Style B" posters, but instead of a mysterious "Master Luke," we see Darth Vader.
