The Jim Henson Company's first-ever public auction is now open for bidding, offering over 400 rare items from its archives, including memorabilia from 'The Muppet Christmas Carol' and 'The Dark Crystal,' to celebrate its 70th anniversary and support its preservation efforts.
Seven decades of imaginative storytelling and groundbreaking puppetry converge today as The Jim Henson Company, in partnership with Julien’s Auctions, officially launches its inaugural public sale: The Jim Henson Company 70th Anniversary Auction.
This sale is officially open for bidding today, October 22, 2025, and resents a monumental, first-ever official offering from the Company’s extensive archives, providing collectors and institutions a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire tangible artifacts from the visionary worlds that Jim Henson built.
A Landmark Sale for a Seven-Decade Legacy
Jim Henson's innovations—from his foundational television work in 1955 to the creation of the Muppets, the Fraggles, and the fantastical creatures of The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth—cemented his creations as enduring cultural icons. This auction is a celebration of that history, featuring an extraordinary collection of over 400 rare and important items that continue to impact society and pop culture today.
The culminating live and online auction is set for Tuesday, November 25, 2025, staged appropriately at the Company’s historic Hollywood headquarters, 1416 N La Brea Avenue, Hollywood, Calif.
