Iconic memorabilia from classic TV shows 'Cheers,' 'Frasier,' and 'Roseanne,' including props and costumes, added to 'Channel Surfing' auction.
We interrupt your regular scheduled program to announce our second drop of iconic memorabilia in "Channel Surfing: A Broadcast to Binge" auction. This extraordinary event, celebrating 70 years of television's greatest moments, takes place live from Julien's Studios in Los Angeles and online on Wednesday, May 7th, and Thursday, May 8th, starting at 10:00 AM PDT.
This latest reveal features cherished props and costumes from three titans of television comedy: Cheers, Frasier, and Roseanne. Prepare to own a piece of sitcom royalty!
Cheers (1982-1993)
For 11 seasons, Cheers welcomed us into the cozy Boston bar run by ex-baseball star Sam Malone. It's where everybody knows your name and was the quintessential neighborhood hangout, home to unforgettable characters like the intellectual waitress Diane Chambers, salty Carla, know-it-all mailman Cliff Clavin, and perennial barfly Norm Peterson. The show expertly blended comedy with serialized romantic storylines, particularly the famous on-again, off-again relationship between Sam and Diane. Cheers earned critical acclaim, numerous awards, and a permanent place in television history, even introducing us to the neurotic psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane later in its run.
Highlights from the Cheers collection include:
The original front door emblazoned with the iconic "Cheers" logo, seen throughout the series' entire run.
Frasier (1993-2004)
Spinning off from Cheers, Frasier became a critical and popular success in its own right, running for 11 acclaimed seasons. The series followed Dr. Frasier Crane back to his hometown of Seattle, where he hosted a radio psychiatry show. Living with his salt-of-the-earth ex-cop father, Martin, and frequently visited by his equally fussy psychiatrist brother, Niles, the show mined comedic gold from their cultural clashes and intellectual sparring. Add in Martin's quirky caretaker, Daphne Moon, and Frasier's sharp producer, Roz Doyle, and you had a recipe for sophisticated, witty, and often farcical comedy that garnered a record 37 Emmy Awards.
Featured Frasier items up for auction:
The Café Nervosa bistro table, chairs, and coffee cups where Frasier and Niles held many memorable conversations. (Note: Fans in Seattle can see the Cafe Nervosa set at a special pop-up exhibition at the Seattle Center Armory on Friday, April 18th, with free coffee provided by Caffe Vita!)
Roseanne (1988-1997, 2018)
Roseanne broke the mold for television sitcoms, offering a refreshingly realistic and funny portrayal of a working-class American family. Led by the brash, wise-cracking matriarch Roseanne Conner, the show tackled relatable issues like poverty, work struggles, and family dynamics with humor and honesty. Set in the fictional town of Lanford, Illinois, the Conner family – Roseanne, Dan, Becky, Darlene, and D.J. – navigated life's ups and downs in their famously lived-in house. The show was a ratings powerhouse for most of its run and praised for featuring a strong, complex female lead and addressing topics rarely seen on TV at the time.
