Julien's takes San Diego with exclusive exhibition at the famed Comic-Con Museum, where fan-favorite items are up for auction in our 'Harry Potter & Other Heroes' event.

San Diego Comic-Con has always been the mecca for movie fans, offering a chance to connect with the films and franchises we adore. This year, the convention is taking that connection to the next level. Thanks to a groundbreaking partnership between Julien's Auctions and TCM, fans will have the unique opportunity to own a piece of cinematic history.

Our "Spotlight Series: Harry Potter & Other Heroes" exhibit and auction is set to be a major highlight of this year's event. We kicked off our epic showcase on Monday, June 15th with an impressive collection of props, costumes, and production materials from iconic films like “Harry Potter,” “Batman,” “Superman,” and more.

With artifacts this connected to the films they're drawn from, this auction promises to be a dream come true for collectors and movie buffs alike.

Slytherin House Student Robe

An original robe as worn by the students of the Slytherin house from the production of the films Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Warner Bros. Pictures, 2004) and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Warner Bros. Pictures, 2005).

The student robe features stitched green lining present along the hood, lower arm, and at the opening of the robe. The robe features a stitched Slytherin patch present on the chest, as well as a Bias Classics brand label at the neck. Size L.

This type of robe would have been worn by characters in the background of the third and fourth installments of the Harry Potter series and feature much of the same design of the hero robes worn by the main cast of the films.

Captain America: The First Avenger

Chris Evans "Steve Rogers / Captain America" Stunt USO Shield Prop

An original USO shield prop as used by Chris Evans as "Steve Rogers / Captain America" in Captain America: The First Avenger (Marvel Studios, 2011).

This shield is composed of urethane, with faux leather straps adhered on the back side for securing the wearer's arm. The weight and quality of this shield indicates it was likely utilized for scenes that required a soft and flexible stunt prop. The Stage 4 weathering applied during the production aligns with the type of shields seen in the film.

This type of shield can be seen while Captain America is performing on-stage as "The Star Spangled Man." The iconic stars and stripes of Captain America's costume are depicted on the shield. Captain America is also seen using this style of shield in battle against Red Skull (Hugo Weaving) and Hydra.

The narrative unfolds against the backdrop of World War II, centering on Steve Rogers, a brave but physically frail young man. Upon volunteering for a classified military experiment, he undergoes a transformation into the super-soldier known as Captain America. Equipped with his iconic shield and newfound enhanced abilities, Captain America confronts the sinister organization HYDRA, helmed by the malevolent Red Skull. Red Skull aims to dominate the world using advanced weaponry fueled by the Tesseract, an enigmatic artifact of extraordinary power whose origins remain shrouded in mystery.

Production-Made Christian Bale "Bruce Wayne / Batman" Cowl Prop

An original unused cowl prop developed for Christian Bale as "Bruce Wayne / Batman" for the production of the Christopher Nolan film The Dark Knight (Warner Bros. Pictures, 2008).

The cowl is composed of a soft black cast rubber. An opening is present at one of the nostrils.

This cowl variant was utilized to evaluate material thickness, and was not incorporated in the ultimate film rendition. Approximately seven tiers of rubber thickness were generated for assessment, ranging from extremely soft and flexible to rigid.

Two marker ink on card drawings on Batman by artist Bob Kane, the character's co-creator, who has signed both pieces and inscribed one "'Bats,' Regards,"; together with a marker ink on card drawing of Superman by co-creator Joe Shuster and Batman by artist Kane, both signed by the artists.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Knight Chess Head Prop

An original knight's head prop from the production of the chess game scene in the film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Warner Bros. Pictures, 2001).

The knight's head is composed of plaster and features hand-painted detailing throughout. The interior of the head is hollow. Deterioration is present at the end of the nose and at the base of the neck.

This type of knight's head/ helmet prop would have been utilized in the chess game seen at the end of the film, when Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint), and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) must play a game of chess to get the Sorcerer's Stone. This type of prop can be seen in the debris around the chessboard before the players begin their game and during the scene where each of the chess pieces are attacking one another and crumbling.

Madame Tussauds Life-Size Figure

An original life-size Spider-Man display figure developed for exhibit at one of Madame Tussauds Wax Museums around the world.

This full-scale figure is composed of a hollow cast resin with painted blue and red elements.

This type of figure appeared at Madame Tussauds in Hollywood, California, Las Vegas, Nevada, Sydney, Australia, among other locations.

Also, on display and up for auction is a one-of-a-kind garment from "Deadpool & Wolverine" – a button-down shirt adorned with images of Canadian heartthrob, Ryan Gosling – with proceeds benefiting the museum's mission to celebrate the art and history of comics. Other items from Reynolds include two additional lots comprising of hand-signed popcorn buckets.

Screen-Worn Ryan Reynolds "Wade Wilson / Deadpool" Ryan Gosling Shirt

An original screen-worn button down shirt worn by Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson / Deadpool in the newly released superhero film Deadpool & Wolverine (Marvel, 2024). This short-sleeve poly-blend shirt features multiple images of movie star, Ryan Gosling. No sizes or labels present.

Reynolds can be seen wearing the shirt in the film during a scene where Wade Wilson reads a copy of the book The Canadian Mounted, an adult romance novel that first appeared being read by fellow Canadian actor John Candy in the classic comedy Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (Paramount, 1987). Wade Wilson can be seen reading the book in the first two Deadpool films as well, as a nod by Reynolds to one of his favorite Canadian comedic heroes.

The image of Reynolds wearing the shirt in the film dropped on his Instagram on April 21, 2024 alongside a teaser for the drop of the newest trailer for the film, which would be released the next day. On April 30, 2024, while on the red carpet for the premiere of his new film The Fall Guy (Universal, 2014), Gosling was asked by Entertainment Tonight reporter Denny Directo what his reaction was to seeing this shirt with his face on it in Deadpool & Wolverine. Gosling responded, "I mean, I just want my shirt back... He borrowed that shirt from me and I need it back."

Together with a gray garment bag containing a pair of costume tags that each read, "FAO. / RYAN REYNOLDS / WITH LOVE, / COSTUME / X."

An original popcorn bucket featuring the design of the character “Wolverine” portrayed in the film by Hugh Jackman, hand-signed by Ryan Reynolds for the theatrical release of the film Deadpool & Wolverine (Marvel, 2024).

This style of popcorn bucket can be seen in a video posted by Ryan Reynolds featuring over one million views with the quote, “Years from now they will look back at 2024 as the year the War of the Popcorn Buckets began.” The viral video shows Deadpool caressing the popcorn bucket, set to the iconic song Also sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss, and later ends in liquid butter being poured down its face.

The Comic-Con Museum is open Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM – and is closed on Wednesday.
