On Tuesday morning, the Magnolia room at the historic Peninsula Beverly Hills played host to a glamorous arena of fashion and opulence. Julien's presented our inaugural "Bold Luxury" celebrity fashion auction, drawing in hundreds of bidders from around the globe. The excitement was palpable as the room buzzed with anticipation for the exquisite items that would soon cross the auction block.

The auction kicked off with a bang, featuring a dazzling array of designer handbags, garments, and accessories, many of which had been deep connections to celebrities.

The collection, an opulent assemblage of 200 pieces direct from the runway, red carpet and retail, traced the fascinating trajectory of fashion's most influential trendsetters and iconic designers. It was a testament to the ever-growing popularity of celebrity fashion, where a glimpse of a star's sartorial choices can ignite a global style revolution.

An Hermes 25 CM picnic (Osier wicker) Birkin with gold swift leather, white contrast saddle stitching, and palladium plated hardware, serial number dates the bag from 2023. The Birkin is new with it's original box, packaging, dust bags, and protective metal coverings.

This Birkin design features a whip-stich detail at the sides and at the flap. There is a leather hinges at the base of the bag held in place by the palladium plated feet. The interior of the bag is lined in gold chevre leather with two internal open pockets at the front and a zipper pocket on the back panel. On the interior side of the leather gusset is a blind serial stamp. The exterior the Hermes brand stamp with the country of manufacture.

The Hermes Picnic originally designed in the Kelly style was introduced in 2011 in Jean Paul Gaultier's final collection at Hermes as creative director. The Osier style was introduced into the Birkin line in 2021 in the coveted 25 cm size, becoming one of the most coveted limited edition novelty style bags amongst collectors.

An Hermes retourné 35 cm, shiny braise/rouge, crocodile porosus Birkin with gold hardware. The design features rolled top handles, a gold-plated padlock accented with crocodile leather, a clochette, and gold-leaf embossed brand and exotic leather identification stamps. This bag is dated 2009 and is in very good condition.

This bag is marked with a special carat stamp identifying the leather as crocodile porosus. Birkins are hand-crafted in France utilizing the brand's saddle stitch technique created by founder Thierry Hermes. This technique was created for the rare occasion in case the thread of a stitch breaks the other stitches remain unaffected. The signature designs include a flap, an expandable gusset, a turn lock closure, and four feet at the base. The interior is lined with matching chevre leather with internal compartments (open pockets at the front panel and a zip compartment at the back panel).

The Birkin premiered in 1984, designed by Jean-Louis Dumas, who created and named this iconic bag for and after Jane Birkin. Jane, who was traveling on a plane with Dumas, had her signature pannier basket, which fell from the overhead bin, spilling all of its contents. Dumas began designing a bag for the French actress on the flight with the first designs being drawn on an air sickness bag. The coveted bag was designed after the house's first handbag the Haute A Courroies (HAC) designed to carry equestrian equipment and sporting attire. The Birkin inherited the trapezoid shape, flap, and expandable gusset of it's predecessor.

A 2016 Hermes shiney black alligator Constance 18 CM crossbody bag with goldtone hardware.

There is a gold leaf embossed brand stamp with a quare identifying the extoric leather. The interior is composed of supple black lambskin with a divider, internal pockets, and a blind stamp on the interior front panel.

This particular style bag was designed by Catherine Chaillet who named the bag after her fifth daughter who was born on the day the bag left production. This rectangular style bag with signature "H" clasp became a staple of Jackie Kennedy making it into a timeless classic and a style of constant demand amongst clients.

This is a Hermes orange Swift Kelly clutch with palladium-plated hardware. The clutch is new and in its original packaging, including the box, dust bag, and leather care card booklet. Protective plastics are still present on the hardware, and there are no scratches.

The Hermes signature orange clutch features tonal saddle stitching with a matching lambskin interior. There is brand silver foil stamp at the interior under the seam of the arched flap. The interior features a single open compartment with an open pocket sewn at the front of the interior.

The clutch is brand new in excellent condition.

A 2013 Chanel white caviar leather 2.55 Jumbo Double flap with silver-tone hardware handbag.

Signature diamond quilted matelasse grained caviar leather with silver-tone hardware. Bag features the logo turlock closure at the front as well as adjustable woven chain/leather straps. The interior is lined with matching white leather with multiple internal compartments. There is an internal flap closure with embroidered "CC" monogram on the underside of the flap.

The bag comes with a card of authenticity as well as a numerical hologram sticker dating bag production 2013-14.

Chanel premiered the iconic 2.55 design in February 1955. When Lagerfeld became the creative director in 1982 he updated the heritage designs with logos and insignia that have become coveted by brand admirers as well as timeless.

Julien's showcased an impressive array of high-style vintage pieces from revered fashion houses like Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Versace, McQueen, Chanel, Pucci, and Louis Vuitton, further stepping into our status as the auction house for luxury fashion. The event also seamlessly blended the world of high fashion and Hollywood, featuring designs adorned by some of the most influential style icons.

One of the standout pieces was a Hermes 25 CM picnic (Osier wicker) Birkin with gold swift leather, white contrast saddle stitching, and palladium plated hardware. Dating back to 2023, this stunning bag commanded a staggering price of $78,000. Another notable item was a 2009 Hermes retourné 35 cm, shiny braise/rouge, crocodile porosus Birkin with gold hardware, which sold for a remarkable $45,500.

The live and online bidding was fierce, with passionate collectors filling the Magnolia room and online vying for the opportunity to own these coveted pieces, with a 2016 Hermes shiny black alligator Constance 18 CM crossbody bag with gold-tone hardware fetching $16,250, and an Atelier Versace animal print, silk chiffon, beaded evening gown from the fall 1996 couture collection, designed by founder Gianni Versace, commanding $10,400 on the auction block.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere in the Magnolia room was electric, thanks in large part to Julien's charismatic auctioneer, Erica Ollwerther. With her wit, humor, and engaging personality, Ollwerther skillfully navigated the auction – keeping the energy high, the laughs in full effect, and the bidding competitive.

Naomi Campbell's iconic sequin brassiere ($2,600) from her legendary 1989 Vogue Italia fashion shoot with Steven Meisel.

Emilia Clarke's red ottoman silk cocktail dress ($3,900) from the romantic drama Me Before You.

Anne Hathaway's three-piece suit ensemble ($2,275) from the comedy film The Hustle.

Jennifer Garner's magenta silk scarf ($1,300) from the beloved comedy 13 Going On 30.
