February Flashback: Style Substance & Pop Culture Phenoms Push Fashion Success at Julien's
Revisit Julien's Auctions' successful month in fashion, featuring ultra-rare and iconic musician pieces, and a charity fashion auction with all proceeds going to organizations supporting wildfire relief, and announcement of the “Bold Luxury: The Limelight Edit,” auction taking place on March 27th, live at The Peninsula Beverly Hills and online.

The past month at Julien's Auctions was a whirlwind of dazzling red carpet relics, iconic musician memorabilia, and, most importantly, a powerful display of community and giving. From the glitz of Hollywood to the heart of charitable action, Julien's once again proved its unique ability to bridge the worlds of entertainment and philanthropy.
As awards season reached its crescendo, we celebrated the unparalleled artistry of fashion's elite. Our curated selection of red carpet looks, featuring creations from the likes of Bob Mackie, Atelier Versace, Chanel, and Roberto Cavalli, reminded us of the transformative power of a truly iconic gown. These pieces, each with a story to tell, represented not just clothing, but moments in cultural history.
Beyond the glamour, however, lay a deeper narrative. We explored the diverse tapestry of New York City style, from the understated elegance of SoHo to the bold self-expression of Harlem, the edgy opulence of Brooklyn, and the confident chic of the city. Each style was a testament to the city's vibrant spirit and its influence on global fashion.

Love, Julien's
Our focus then shifted to highlighting the power of personal style and the sentimental value of cherished fashion items. A curated collection of handbags, each with a unique story, inspired looks that resonated their own personal narratives. These bags aren't just accessories; they're companions, symbols of love, strength, and resilience.

Pop Stars for Charity
And then, there was the extraordinary G*VE A FR*CK LA benefit auction. What began as a simple clothing drive to support wildfire relief transformed into a pop-culture phenomenon, a testament to the power of collective action and the generosity of the entertainment industry.
The auction, held on February 25th, was a resounding success, a triumph of both heart and hammer. 100% of the proceeds were dedicated to organizations providing crucial support to those affected by devastating wildfires: One Voice, Altadena Girls, Friends in Deed, and the Pasadena Humane Society. These organizations, working tirelessly on the front lines, received a much-needed boost thanks to the overwhelming support of bidders and contributors.
The auction itself was a spectacle. Eighty exclusive items, each with a unique connection to music and entertainment, went under the hammer. From stage-worn costumes to music video ensembles, these pieces captured the zeitgeist and offered bidders a chance to own a piece of pop culture history.
The results were nothing short of astounding. With a 100% sell-through rate and 74% of lots exceeding their high estimates, the auction's success spoke volumes. But it wasn't just about the numbers. It was about the spirit of giving, the collective desire to make a difference.
Chappell Roan's sequined marching band unitard, a vibrant piece from her "HOT TO GO!" music video and live performances, became a symbol of the auction's success. Estimated to fetch between $1,000 and $2,000, it soared to an incredible $88,900, a testament to the power of combining collectible fashion with a worthy cause.
Other highlights included the Beastie Boys' personalized Adidas tracksuits, seen in their documentary, fetch $38,100. Sabrina Carpenter's Alaia hooded mini-dress, worn in her "Please Please Please" video, sold for $34,925. And Shirley Manson's polka dot mini-dress, from Garbage's "I Think I'm Paranoid" video, went for a staggering $31,750.
Charli XCX's bridal-inspired ensemble, Chappell Roan's 2023 stage-worn outfit, Sabrina Carpenter's "Taste" outfit, Hayley Williams' "This is Why" ensemble, and her "Era's Tour" outfit, all reached impressive numbers, exceeding expectations and demonstrating the power of these artists and their impact.
The G*VE A FR*CK LA auction was more than just a sale; it was a celebration of community, creativity, and compassion. It was a reminder that even amid glamour and entertainment, the power to make a difference remains paramount.
As we look back on this remarkable month, we are filled with gratitude for the artists, bidders, and supporters who made it all possible. Julien's Auctions is proud to have played a role in this extraordinary display of generosity, and we look forward to continuing to bridge the worlds of entertainment and philanthropy in the months and years to come.
We also enter Spring 2025 with our second installment of “Bold Luxury,” a curated collection of ultra-rare and iconic pieces that once graced the wardrobes of legends. From Elizabeth Taylor's timeless elegance to Marilyn Monroe's eternal allure, Cher's fearless flamboyance, and Britney Spears's pop princess charm, this auction is a fashion lover's dream come true.
Dubbed “The Limelight Edit,” the auction takes place on March 27th, both live at The Peninsula Beverly Hills and online – and transports us back in time as we unveil the stories behind these extraordinary garments and accessories, each one a testament to the power of fashion and the icons who made them unforgettable.
