Julien's Auctions celebrates a remarkable September with events showcasing pop culture, sports, and fashion.

This September at Julien's Auctions was nothing short of spectacular. We curated a series of events that not only showcased remarkable items but also celebrated the lasting impact of pop culture on our lives. From the silver screen to the basketball court, from high fashion runways to the intimate world of personal memorabilia, we've had the pleasure of connecting passionate collectors with pieces of history.

Raquel Welch: More Than Just a ‘Bombshell’

Our "Raquel Welch: Part Two" auction was a testament to the multifaceted career of this legendary actress. While her stunning silver dress from “Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult” certainly turned heads (and fetched a cool $3,575!), it was the breadth of items that truly captured the essence of Raquel Welch. Original artwork, like the vibrant portrait by Clayton LaFevre, revealed her as a muse for artists, while personal photographs and ephemera offered glimpses into her life beyond the spotlight. Even a collection of auburn wigs, each with handwritten tags detailing its nuances, spoke volumes about her attention to detail and dedication to her craft.

‘FRIENDS:’ Could We Be Any More Nostalgic?

The "FRIENDS" 30th Anniversary Auction was a phenomenon, a testament to the sitcom's enduring legacy. It wasn't just about owning a piece of the show; it was about reliving those cherished moments of laughter and camaraderie. Witnessing the bidding wars erupt over Rachel's iconic sweater or Chandler's quirky shirts was a reminder of how deeply these characters and their stories resonate with us. And let's not forget the pièce de résistance: the Central Perk couch, a symbol of friendship and shared experiences, which found a new home for a staggering $29,250.

‘Bold Luxury:’ Where Fashion Meets Passion

Our inaugural "Bold Luxury" auction was a dazzling affair. The Peninsula Beverly Hills was transformed into a haven of haute couture, with bidders vying for rare and exquisite pieces from the world's leading fashion houses. Hermès Birkin bags, with their impeccable craftsmanship and timeless appeal, were the stars of the show, commanding impressive sums.

But it was the diversity of the collection that truly impressed, from vintage Versace gowns to contemporary Louis Vuitton designs. The energy in the room was electric, thanks in no small part to our auctioneer Erica Ollwerther, whose infectious enthusiasm and quick wit kept the crowd entertained.

‘Legends in Motion:’ A Global Stage for Icons

Julien's Auctions made its mark on the international stage with "Legends in Motion" in Hong Kong. This landmark event brought together an eclectic mix of memorabilia, celebrating icons from the worlds of sports, music, and film. LeBron James' "Chosen One" Sports Illustrated and game-worn high school jersey, a symbol of his meteoric rise to fame, shattered records with its $1.3 million sale price for a high school jersey.

Bruce Lee's legacy was also honored, with his personal items and iconic nunchaku returning to his hometown and captivating collectors. This auction proved that the power of legendary figures transcends borders and generations.

Looking Ahead

September was a month of extraordinary auctions, record-breaking sales, and unforgettable moments. We're immensely proud to have played a part in preserving and celebrating pop culture history.

As we move forward to October and beyond, we remain committed to curating exceptional events that capture the imagination and bring together passionate collectors from around the world.
