For months, the whispers and headlines have been unavoidable. From in-depth features in Forbes to excited chatter across social media, the excitement has been substantial. Fans have followed every update, from Tony Hawk’s own announcements to exclusive reveals in People Magazine and lively discussions on platforms like Front Office Sports. The media runway has been extensive, building to this very moment. At last, the wait is over.

Curated by the legend himself, this sale of nearly 100 items from Tony Hawk’s personal archive offers an unprecedented opportunity to own a piece of skateboarding history. The centerpiece, of course, is the genuine, one-of-one Birdhouse “Falcon 2” skateboard that Tony Hawk rode into the annals of history by landing the first-ever “900” at the 1999 X Games. It was a trick that defied physics and transformed skateboarding from a subculture into a global phenomenon. Estimated to fetch between $500,000 and $700,000, this board represents the crown jewel of a collecting market on the verge of explosion.

"This is the first time I’ve been personally involved in every aspect of selling my own items,” Tony Hawk shared with People. “I chose pieces from my collection that are not only meaningful to me, but also to a collector seeking a special ‘One of One’ like the '900' deck. It will be bittersweet to part with gear that represents highlights of my career, but helping raise funds for The Skatepark Project makes it all worthwhile.”

The depth of the collection extends far beyond its iconic centerpiece. For the first time, the complete set of gear worn during that monumental achievement is available, including the signed Mosa Sports helmet, Boneless knee pads, and Adio sneakers (size 13).

A Grassroots Cause

Underscoring the event's profound impact, a portion of the proceeds will benefit The Skatepark Project, Hawk's non-profit organization dedicated to creating safe and inclusive public skateparks for youth in underserved communities.

This event presents itself as an auction, but make no mistake the brevity of this monumental moment is a celebration of a pioneer who reshaped the landscape of modern sports. Julien’s Auctions is honored to bring this collection to market for the first time ever and invite collectors and fans to join us in making history.

The live auction will take place on Tuesday, September 23rd, at 10:00 a.m. PT at the Loews Hotel in Hollywood, but the opportunity to make your mark begins now.
