LIVE AND ONLINE AUCTION — SATURDAY, JUNE 5TH, 2004
Over 400 "collector and museum quality" items from the career of Barbra Streisand will be offered Saturday, June 5, at a live charity auction in Los Angeles which will be simultaneously accessible for on-line bidding around the world. The unique event, to be produced by Julien Entertainment and held at Astra West in the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, CA, "will feature famous items tracing the superstar's fabled career from the early 1960's to today," Darren Julien noted. All proceeds will go to humanitarian and environmental causes supported by the artist's philanthropic work through The Streisand Foundation. Julien stated the June 5 bidding will follow exhibitions (see attached schedule) in New York, London and Los Angeles. The "Her Name is Barbra" auction will include many of her most memorable costumes spanning her entire career in films, television and on stage. Beginning with her Academy award winning first appearance on film in Funny Girl, to her directorial debut with Yentl for which she won the Golden Globe for best director.
