from "Imagine"

A brown velvet jacket worn by John Lennon in "Imagine" (Joko, 1973). Consisting of a fitted two button jacket with colored embroidery throughout by Renoma. Label reads in full: "Renoma/Made in France/Paris." Also present is facsimile copy of a letter of authenticity.

John Lennon and Yoko Ono

This jacket can prominently be seen worn by Lennon while he is seated at his piano performing "Imagine" in the opening scene of the "Imagine" (Joko, 1973) to promote his album on Capitol Records bearing the same name released in the fall of 1971 and was later gifted from Lennon to close friend Richard Ross; the owner of the famed New York club and restaurant, Home. The surreal, half-fiction footage features a day in the life of Lennon and Yoko Ono, composed to music of Lennon's "Imagine" album as well as Ono's avant garde "Fly".

(Rykodisc, 1971). The film was directed by Lennon with Steve Gebhardt, who previously worked with the couple on "Ten for Two" (Vaughan Films, 1971) and the short film "Fly."
