
Julien's Auctions, the world's premier entertainment and celebrity memorabilia auction house returns to The Ponte Resort in Macau, China with a showcase of film, music, and sports memorabilia from some of the world’s most admired superstars including legendary film icon Marilyn Monroe and the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Other iconic pieces to be offered include personal effects from Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Madonna, Her Royal Highness, Diana Princess of Wales, Michael Jordon, Tiger Woods, Muhammad Ali and many others.
Among the auction’s movie highlights include: the provocative green gown worn by Marilyn Monroe in River of No Return (est $200,000 - $300,000); a selection of award-winning costumes from Bernardo Bertolucci’s The Last Emperor (est range from $100 - $1,500); costumes from Dennis Hopper’s portrayal of Deacon in Waterworld (est $400 - $600); Alfred Molina’s wayward tentacle as Doctor Octopus from Spiderman 2; and a nefarious Thuggee costume from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom blockbuster (est $3,000 - $4,000).
The auction also highlights several iconic items from the world of music. Unique Beatles memorabilia - a note signed by John Lennon ($6,000 - $8,000), a Paul McCartney signed Hofner bass (est $4,000 - $6,000), handwritten lyrics from the band’s first bassist, Stuart Sutcliffe (est $400 - $600), and a rare 1963 Beatles concert poster (est $12,000 - $14,000). Other choice music items include a Madonna signed “Sex” book (est $800 - $1,200), a stage worn gold bustier from her Who’s That Girl tour (est $6,000 - $8,000), images of Madonna by Herb Ritz signed by the superstar ($200 - $400), an early model headshot with information sheet (est $200 - $400), and a recording of Madonna singing “Simon Says” with her band The Emmy’s (est $600 - $800). Pieces from the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, Elvis and many other musical icons also appear in the Julien’s Auction’s “Legends” auction.
