Darren Julien – President and CEO

Darren Julien is the founder of Julien's Auctions. A third generation entrepreneur, Darren has been heavily involved in auctions for all of his adult life. Darren's foundation in the auction world and his special talent for creating unique marketing events led to the creation of Julien's Auctions. Julien's has dominated the entertainment memorabilia market on its own and in collaboration with both Christie's and Sotheby's since its inception. Darren has successfully orchestrated major marketing campaigns for sales, routinely securing placement with The Associated Press, Reuters, The Today Show, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, BBC and many other high profile news outlets. Darren is a graduate of Reppert School of Auctioneering which was established in 1921 where he earned a Reppert Diploma, the sign of excellence in the field of auctioneering. It is his experience, expertise and enthusiasm that Darren brings to each sale, making Julien's Auctions a market leader.

Martin J. Nolan – Executive Director

Martin J. Nolan was born and raised in Ireland. He has an extensive financial background having worked in investment banking on Wall Street for more than 14 years. He has held high level investment positions with Merrill Lynch and J.P. Morgan Chase. Martin is a graduate of Reppert School of Auctioneering which was established in 1921 where he earned a Reppert Diploma, the sign of excellence in the field of auctioneering. He is the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director for Julien's Auctions. This responsibility, combined with his entrepreneurial background, has helped develop a long term business and marketing plan that enhances Julien's Auctions with an advantage over other auction houses. One of Martin's focuses is to develop high quality corporate sponsorships providing a unique opportunity for corporate entities to invest their marketing dollars with a more effective media focused form of advertising. Martin's efforts are also concentrated on creating and developing future clients for Julien's Auctions globally. He is currently focusing on developing new clients in Ireland, India, China and Japan, countries that are achieving phenomenal growth. Martin's greatest passion is to create opportunities for charitable organizations to raise much needed funds through his philanthropic work. This has become his primary goal with Julien's Auctions, enabling those in need to benefit from the high profile celebrity charity auctions that we conduct. The auctions not only raise much needed funds for charitable organizations but they also raise the awareness of the important work of the charities.

Michael Doyle, Consignment Director

Michael Doyle was born and raised in Beverly Hills, California. It is there he began to cultivate his interest in fine arts and the entertainment industry which surrounded him. Michael attended the University of Michigan for his Bachelor's, receiving a degree in both Art History and Communication Studies. During his undergraduate studies, Michael had the opportunity to travel extensively. At one point, he conducted his studies as he voyaged around the world on a ship, docking in 14 different countries. After graduation, his passion for the arts and his interest in celebrity memorabilia led him to join the Julien's team. Michael Doyle is a graduate of Reppert School of Auctioneering, which was established in 1921, where he earned a Reppert Diploma, the sign of excellence in the field of auctioneering. Michael is responsible for administrating and managing all the elements required to make an auction happen, including consignments, photography, cataloging, online bidding, new media, and event logistics.

Megan Mahn Miller, Director of Special Projects and Property Specialist

A passionate researcher, Megan heads the cataloging department at Julien's Auctions. Megan is a Minneapolis native and holds a degree in art history for the University of Minnesota. She brings to Julien's a varied background in Art Education, Event Planning, Public Relations and Marketing. Megan is a graduate of the Reppert School of Auctioneering and a licensed auctioneer in the State of Minnesota.

Shaan Kokin, Creative Director

Shaan Kokin was born and raised in Southern California. From an early age he had an interest in photography when his father bought him an instant Polaroid camera. Shaan graduated from Windward High School and studied history at Clark University. After extensive traveling, he decided he wanted to have a career based on creativity. So he enrolled and graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California where he received a B.A. in Advertising Photography. After graduation he worked as a full time in-house photographer for Butterfields auction house. Shaan joined Julien's Auctions as Creative Director having worked as a sales representative for Calumet Photographics.

Rebecca Goldstein — Fine and Decorative Art Specialist and Appraiser — Consultant

Rebecca Goldstein is a Certified Member of the International Society of Appraisers and an Accredited Member of the American Society of Appraisers. She has earned degrees at the University of California, Berkeley (B.A., Art History) and Irvine (Certificate in Appraisal Studies in Fine and Decorative Arts), and California State University, San Jose (M.A., Library Science). Rebecca previously worked at Christie's auction house, the Wildenstein Gallery in New York and at the Getty Center in Los Angeles. She currently consults with Julien's Auctions on all fine and decorative art projects including cataloging and appraising while running her own appraisal firm.

Hillary Ripps, Office Administrator

Hillary inherited her interest in the film industry from her father, who worked for MGM for over 40 years beginning in 1929. Hillary has worked with many well known film directors, producers and writers. She also partnered in a very successful independent production company for over 20 years, producing the films as well as running the office and handling business affairs. It was during this period that she received an Academy Award nomination and became a member of the Academy, where she serves on several Executive Committees. In her spare time, Hillary is puppy-raising Edison, a yellow Labrador Retriever, for Guide Dogs of America, as well as doing volunteer work at the Hollywood Ronald McDonald House. She is delighted to have become a member of Julien's Auctions staff as the Office Administrator which enables her to assist in the many facets of setting up the auctions.

Darcie Mena, Accounting

Darcie Mena was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She joined the Julien's staff in April 2011. Having previously worked for a bank and two accounting firms, she gained the comprehensive skills in client services and acquired strong accounting knowledge which she continues to apply to her roles of accounting at Julien's.

Carol Lee Brosseau, Property Specialist

Carol Lee grew up in Dallas, Texas and received her BA in Art History from Baylor University, focusing on Nineteenth-Century European Art. After graduation, Carol Lee pursued graduate study in American Fine and Decorative Arts at the Sotheby's Institute of Art in New York. Upon completion of the program, Carol Lee held several positions in New York with art advisors and private dealers before moving to a position as Studio Manager for a contemporary painter. In 2005, Carol Lee moved to San Diego and was the Director of a fine art photography gallery for five years; there she curated almost 40 photographic exhibitions and gained a specialization in photography. Since 2008, Carol Lee has also run her own art consulting and collection management business. For Julien's, Carol Lee catalogues fine and decorative arts sales, estates, memorabilia, and photographs.

Alex Wisotsky, Data Manager

Alex Wisotsky was born and raised in Westlake Village, California. He received his Bachelor's degree in American History and a minor in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2006. Prior to Julien's, Alex held the position of Online Auction Manager for an auction house in his hometown of Westlake Village. Alex's avid interest in entertainment and films naturally drew him to Julien's Auctions, where in July 2011 he retained his current position of Data Manager.

Isabel Yeo, Art Cataloger/Property Writer

Isabel Yeo was born and raised in Singapore, where her family continues to reside today. Isabel loves to travel and has visited numerous countries in Europe, Asia, as well as various cities in the U.S, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. She attended Choate Rosemary Hall, a boarding school in Connecticut at the age of sixteen, and moved to Los Angeles in 2006. Isabel began her studies in Art History, French, and Business Administration as a freshman at the University of Southern California. While in college, Isabel interned and worked part-time at various art galleries in Los Angeles, as well as Christie's and Bonham's. She joined the Julien's family in January 2011.

Dan Nelles, Sports Specialist

Dan Nelles was raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and developed a love of sports and sports memorabilia at a very young age. Having been born into a family of sports lovers, as well as one with entrepreneurial spirit, Dan started his first sports memorabilia company at the age of sixteen. From there, Dan went on to aid in the development of Toronto sports memorabilia institutions Legends of The Game and Pro League Sports Collectibles. After graduating and receiving his B.A. in Communication Studies from The University of Windsor, Dan earned a position at The Sports Network (TSN) — Canada's equivalent of ESPN. In 2011, Dan brought his enthusiasm, expertise and over 25 years of experience in the sports memorabilia marketplace to Julien's Auctions as he was welcomed in the position of Sports Specialist. For Julien's, Dan's responsibilities lie in the further development of the sports memorabilia sector, client services, cataloging and inventory management.

Steven Kirk, Property Specialist

Steven Kirk was born in Syracuse, New York where he started his trek into the world of entertainment with numerous theatrical performances and as an announcer and promotions director on radio stations in Central New York. He later studied theatre arts as well as working in theatre and broadcasting in San Francisco and has since enjoyed a long history in the performing arts (film, television, theatre, commercials, music video, voice over & celebrity look-a-like). Steven moved to Los Angeles where his love of Hollywood led him into collecting and preserving some of its history. A joint venture with a fellow collector found Steven traveling to Australia for a press tour in 1996 as his "Memories of Hollywood Collection" toured the Westfield's shopping malls where it was called "The Largest Collection of Hollywood Memorabilia Ever to Tour Australia". Steven's years of experience collecting, researching, restoring, and displaying props & costumes led him to his position as of Property Specialist at Julien's Auctions.

Summer Evans, Photographer

Summer has been passionate about photography since she was young. She shot her first roll of film, which was entirely of her dog, when she was eight years old. She attended Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara where she attained a B.A. in Professional Photography. While working for Bonhams & Butterfields, she continued her interest and development as an exhibiting fine art photographer. In 2011 she joined the Julien's team where she brings her enthusiasm, experience, and love of creative photography to the company.

Kristin King, Gallery Manager

After graduating from the University of San Diego with a Bachelor's degree in communications and a minor in theater, Kristin spent time in the arts non-profit world working in Development and Special Events at La Jolla Playhouse in La Jolla, California and the Grand Teton Music Festival/Jackson Hole Wine Auction in Jackson, Wyoming. Kristin is excited to be back in Southern California and a part of the Julien's Auctions team.

Ricardo Limon, Warehouse Manager

Ricardo (Ricky) Limon was born and raised in California. Ricky comes to Julien's with an extensive background in warehouse management, most recently the Estate of Michael Jackson. In 2010, Ricky joined the Julien's team.
